I need to pick the brain cell/s of fellow Vesparites. I have bought a genuine Vespa screen for my GTS and frankly I'm shocked by the poor quality of the mounting parts (slight rust on the thread, some sort of bright plating, but not chrome, and not it will never shine up to chromed finish). So have I been sold a copy, or are they all that bad??? I bought it from RBM spares via Ebay here: stores.ebay.co.uk/rbm-spares?_trksid=p2047675.l2563Genuine Vespa GTS125 / 300 Screen Pt no 672901 R.R.P £78.99 (SCREEN AND FITTINGS ONLY, BIKE NOT INCLUDED!!)

I'm just loitering on here, whilst looking up some other stuff on old threads, but saw you were hoping for a reply, so.............
I can't see where on the listing it says chrome. BUT It is sold as New, Unopened, Genuine Piaggio/Vespa OE, and it's under Ebay Buyer Protection, so if you aren't satisfied with quality just send it back.
It might well not be Kosher, but just as likely, knowing the sh↑te knocked out with a Piaggio badge these days, it might be as good as they get.

I must confess that I know S.F.A.. about Fly screens or GTS's for that matter ! But , in my experience most stuff off evil bay (unless from a known trusted descent seller or retailer ) is cheap for a reason ! i.e. its a poor quality copy or tat ! Specially scooter stuff ! So buyer beware .You pays yer money etc. Course there's loads of genuine sellers and bargains to be found. Don't know about how good this seller is as I've never used em. We've all been there tho , buying stuff of poor quality thinking result , only to end up disappointed/p***d off ! Of course there's exceptions but if I'm looking for a bargain off e bay I always look how much it is at a "proper shop" then weigh up if the e bay price is too good to be true. Spend cheap pay twice. So my advice would be to compare with a " respected " seller/shop and if it looks like a copy or not as advertised , complain or send it back ! I realise this doesn't answer or solve your prob /question , but that's m.h.o.
Cheers.

Thanks peeply. The chrome work on my GTS is pretty sh*te, but I would have expected something of similar bad quality, not a zinc electro plate similar to what one gets on wood screws.
I'll pop into my dealer and have a look. Then take a view.

Hmmm. First world problem I guess. I've fitted it for the winter, I'll take it off next yr and send it for proppa chroming. Shame its so poor, I'd sooner pay few quid more tbh.
