Hi guys. Can anyone give me advice on the Malossi 166 kit please? I'm thinking of fitting one to my stock PX125 (2000) disc. At the moment the only change from sticknis the SIP 2 exhaust, jetted to suit. If fitting this kit is there any fannying about or is it simply bolt off bolt on? Cheers. Pink

IIRC the malossi cylinder catches on the electric start ring gear on your flywheel so you need to grind back a bit of the fins on the cylinder.
And the old cylinder won't clear the studs with the engine in the frame so you need to remove a few of the studs to get it off.
And you will need to re-jet the carb to suit the kit.
Not hard, but certainly a bit of faffing around.

Not wanting too hijack your thread buddy..but im intrested in kits for the exact same scoot...anyone reading what kit would you recommend is the best for a bike thats only gonna do 1 or 2k a year but will be doing a few 100mile + in a day stints on motorways so the quicker the better is the dr 180 kit a stronger option?..other? the quattrini's are going to run ya 3000-5000 , the bsg bout same , seriously quick n seriously expensive , better just to sling a p200 lump in an run that , the dr's a low cost upgrade ,bout £80 for the kit n £100 for a exhaust to make it work , with new jets an you doing work it will top out at £200 , an bout 65 mph cruising , just , H

Very tricky n rapid looking bits of kit..65/70mph will be more than enough for me..will be going the kit/can/carb route..can see all my spare cash being eaten on chrome/paint/engraving..gotta admit i have another daily ride that forfills my need for speed..my gsxr 1000 k6 156bhp LOON-E

easy job daz, your going to need some circlip pliers,2smoke oil and a few spanners etc plastic covers off exhaust off cylinder head off double nut your studs and remove cylinder off piston off malossi piston on malossi cylinder on studs back in malossi head on exhaust bolted to cylinder larger main jet take for a quick ridek check plug run it in nicely or give it 50 miles at 40mph then thrash it till it blows up!!! you could remove the starter ring instead of grinding the cylinder, you get a few more revs with a lighter flywheel anywho and dont forget to tighten your nuts up correctly or it wont seal Cheers gaz top man what sort of top speed should I get from my px125 with a malossi kit and a simoni exhaust
