Hi. Please can you help me as we are looking for a Vespa and not sure if a 125cc will be adequate for the occasional longer journeys. Also not sure if we should go for the older px or more modern version. We like the look of the older. Any advice is appreciated. Many thanks winnie.

125 2 up on flat is fine it will struggle on the hills unless you do some mods then you should get standard performance 2 up.as for older /newer as long as its been looked after properly it doesent matter but people with newer scoots normaly have to reverse enginear with mods to get the same performance as an older 80s 90s vespa.I would say get a kitted 125 and you should be fine if you have a full bike licence then forget 125 and buy a 200

as gaz says ,if you do look at gts have a good poke underneath they rust a lot , same with a px where mud/damp gets flicked up by front wheel, if touring stay of motorways an take the scenic route on A roads , then a 125 px will be adequate , make it about the journey not the destination ,more fun that way an speeds not important , H
