Heres a plug chop from my latest motor, Malossi 210, after fast 100 mile trip and then after 2 minutes of WOT I killed the ignition...
If i keep upping the main i will need more air to compensate for a smooth bottom end (chortle! chortle!) Im quite happy with how its running but the plug, only at WOT says no?! Wat do you guys think? I have similar results on my Pinasco which leads me more and more towards the fuel and oil im using!? Premium fuel and quality fully synth.. (Although i have used cheaper fully synth for ages with no problems)! And like wise on my pinasco, same thing. Should i be a bit more generous with the oil? Im always strickly 2%. Ive only had these coloured plugs on motors that can rev past 8000rpm. Is the plug too hot? (B8) Is there anything i should check/can do with the auto lube? Is it just that the auto lube is not keeping up!? After the quick look i had today, when popping the hook back in the throttle/autolube mechanism, i did notice at WOT the throttle opened fully but the autolube linkage had some slack, only at WOT.. How do i get around that? Should there be a rubber bush in there to keep it tight/stop it popping out? Or?? Low mid range gives good plug colour and the one i took out (B7) was a lovely rich bourbon ... but i wouldnt be suprised if its never been WOT before)

Nasty!! - Bit scary at long WOTs, knowing the plugs looking like that I'd have thought? They feel lovely right up until...........................*>@^@%@$**#________________ It's not the 2% though; I'm sure we're agreed on that.

Trouble is, its so quiet, i can barely hear the motor! Jetting is 52/140 and 132mj I thought id better have a quick look at the plug after the trashing i gave it. Its got to be tested Speedo was reading around 70mph when i cut the ignition. Im going to check exactly how much play there is between the slide and the autolube.. making sure the autolube is fully open @ WOT. Looking back at the ground strap of the plug...judging by the position of the change of colour, the plug is actually at an ok heat range.

a b8 an if my glasses are clean enuff i'd of said on edge of being too cold a plug ,am afraid your photography nearly on par with mine an not a touch on simes , looks a tad weak to me at wot , but sounds ok at tickover to 2/3 thirds throttle, the auto lube linkage should have a little nylon bush where throttle clips in an no slack , there often missing an ive not heard of it giving grief ,but logic says any slack in the operation will under feed oil ,especially at higher revs/WOT, 1 way to be sure ,go pre-mix , H

Carnets! Theyre the custard things to get! Brilliant Its funny, it is actually one of the things i bother to learn when venturing out of my windmill. Trouble is,,, its not so good... You need to learn "2 beers" or 3 beers etc - drinking alone is not so good either Cheers H, it would make sense for the linkage to have something in it. Anyone know what sizes this bush should be? Or what i could use as an alternative? Its a bit worrying, using an 'unknown' autolube. If i built it myself id still use the autolube. The old plug from when the previous owner had it looked like it was well lubed ! (Fnarr! Fnarr!) "24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence?" -- Stephen Wright

Having read all this stuff I thought it about time I checked mine out on the PX200. Got all warm and did a fifty mile run of general fast ish use then the usual wot etc. It looks like this so I'm happy with that!!!

Its good to check it once in a while. Ive checked the autolube and its opening fully @ WOT. If i jet @ 128 its great around town and very smooth... but i wouldnt like to open it up very often! I'll throw in a massive jet to check plug at WOT and at the same time try to keep the mid range sweet...somehow! I might even get a better pic of the plug

I would go down one plug number on the heat range though. The plug is running slightly too cold.

PXGURU. I know what you mean, but because I carry so much drag in the form of mirrors and flags etc on the 'Peac**k' (see my icon) the damn thing is flat out everywhere to stay with the SX200 Lammies in our group. Safe than sorry ? Might give it a quick try though LOL
