Its not so far from me really but i dont ever recall going there before. Not to the main square anyway. The whole main square is quite a sight to behold. They're probably all still running windows XP around there, which ain't so bad actually. As for the sun following me around...either that or i only go out on nice days (I wish that were true, ive already destroyed/water-logged my iphone the other week due to riding in torrential rain). And the only sheep I'll ever see at 6am are in my sleep I plan to hit the road again this weekend, maybe spot some more windmills? Nice shots Jack Enjoying the road

One for the road, eh Jack! As is the theme for the thread it's nice to get out – even if only local for now, and it's good to see some photos of fun stuff, and what we're all up to. I liked XP just fine, but my hardware has gone to the retirement home now after a hard life, and I had to replace it, which is particularly painful because some of my CAD software is no longer 'free' if you know what I mean. (Don't matter what it is either; none of 'em like water) Anyway, that's well boring, it's the weekend; not a care in the World, and I'm getting mine out to play in the morning!!!

I've been riding before sunrise for the last three mornings, and not really wanted to stop to take photos, but it's been spectacular big, red sun, and very bright between the rolling banks of mist, low-down light straight in the face. Sun-strike cut my ride short this morning, so I went up the lane at home to do a few photos of my baby after the 200 miles running-in with the new engine. She looks a bit tatty after riding in all weathers for a few weeks without a wash, but she's done me proud this year and been rewarded with a newly-built tuned-up-a-bit engine; we're both happy..........

It's turned out really well this year; enjoying one engine for jolly jaunts whilst getting the new one built and ready. Important to remind myself that the work to get the scooter good to ride and reliable, is just so that I can get out and enjoy it even more; it's too easy to get drawn in to forever tweaking and not riding. I've been lucky so far with the recent splendid weather for running-in too, but as colourful as Autumn is, I'm still looking forward to the Spring and chasing rabbits up the lanes, but I might try and do a few iced doughnuts over the Winter before that though! - Scooter in the snow photos soon...............?

This took half hour to film, and then all morning to convert, split, compress and upload, so I'm going to post it on the 'Nice Out' 'Playtime' and the 'Brief Build' threads. It's a new bullet helmet camera; I had the previous model, but this one's HD, although 30 mins of film was 6GB, so there's not much you can do with it until it's been converted to MPG or MP4, then split-up, so might as well have stuck to SD. It has a 32GB MicroSD card, which is good for 6½ hours, the battery lasts 3½ hours, but I can charge it from my scooter power outlet on my toolbox (or the one inside for secure charging). Also, because of very bright, low light, I had to have the camera pointed lower in the sky than I'd have liked; a but too much road and too little horizon and scenery on this recording really. As far as riding is concerned; these are my usual little, local test runs – some lanes and hills, which the camera doesn't really show too well. It was a bright, clear morning, but the roads were still wet from last night, so I had to tone-down a couple of the corners a tad. I think I am possibly just a little too hot, (125ºC between villages and 136ºC one junction on dual carriageway – not WOT), but I'm keeping an eye on it with some longer runs planned over the weekend, though this morning was forecast to be the best weather. I've also got a new bit of a front-end vibration, which seems to be since I changed the front and spare wheels over, so I've got my eye on that too. I might also have lost a bit of top speed in 4th since the last jetting change too, so it all might just need a tweak sometime, but I'm happy with it and just keeping an eye and getting a feel as it is.
Anyway, here's links to two films – a half-hour ride, split in half to stay within Youtube's 15 minute limit, and converted to MPG, then cropped, then split, and saved as only 720x576 mpg to get the file size down – still took all morning to upload though, and the microphone picks up the sound of the wind, not the engine, which is a shame. To do it better I'd have to use some foam, or make a shield, or use my phone to record a WAV sound file and overlay it onto the MPG with the MPG sound stripped-out, but for this little test it just ain't worth the palaver. It's Nice out, it's Playtime, and the Build is done - Here's Youtube links:
….Just checked them on Youtube; quality is pretty shabby compared to watching the original 1280X720 AVI files on my big telly, so need to have a think about how better to edit and upload; I'll post them as they are for now, but shorter, higher quality films needed, but that's more messing about than I've got time for today – I've got all Summer to suss it out, today I want to be back out riding!.....

It's 'Long Tom' a Neolithic standing stone, and the Celts did 'Banksy it up' much later by carving a cross on the top of it, hence the nob: You chaps should get out more......

H,
It is with great pride and pleasure that I humbly accept your kind offer of a preliminary honorary probationary membership/association to your exclusive club "awkward b*st**ds SC" (Leeds branch) a position which some would say I was born to occupy...... possibly .
Cheers.

great , i must warn you were already "associated" with "solitary c##ts SC" in germany , otherwise known as mathius ,of mathius&sherer exhausts fame. so your now obliged to drink beer n shout/argue with each other upon meeting . wearing leather jeans an singing along to american "c##k rock" on the juke box is not compulsory , but if europa "the final frontier" comes on not joining in is frowned upon . i dont make the rules ,honest, i just try to live by em .
