not for sure but i'd guess no, the difference between dr177 n 180 might be in the head , you'd need to carefully check the measurements given for bore size/ring thickness/piston size , an maybe even message there tech site , h

Id imagine it would be a 63mm bore, most 180 (or 177 to be precise) kits are 63mm But yeh, do check first

Buy rings for a Dr 180 then you know there right why would you buy them for a 177 if you have a 180

DR177 = DR180:
Pi(63mm/2)²x57mm = 177682.98mm³
= 177.68cc
= “DR180”
= “DR177”
This does not answer the original question, but might clear up the 177 – 180 confusion. The piston you refer to does seem to be intended for a DR177; it’s Ø63 with two oversizes, and looks like it's intended for improved durability, though how it would perform, uncut, without all the little DR piston ports is something to leave to the clever blokes by the looks of it.

so the diff is probably in head profile if bores the same , but as rab says if ya can find the dr180 rings i'd go for them rather than chance a dr177 set , try "motortime2012" on e bay ,theve been doing deals cheapest on dr kits n piston/ring kits recently . H

I think you'll find that a DR177 is a DR180; they're not two different kits; just two different names for the same kit. - Ø63, 177.68cc; nominally a DR180, actually a 177cc. That piston is intended for this kit, which I think was the question, but whether it's a good option or not needs investigation.

Not me, but the point I was making (other than the DR177/180 red-herring) was that it looks to me from first reading, that the piston itself needs a bit of a tweak for performance; look at the bits I've highlighted in red: It looks like a durability upgrade, but not a straight swap to me - there's loads of ports missing; "ideal for do-it-yourself tuning", it says.
