Hey all over he weekend I had my first accident on scooter and am absolutely gutted, finally saved the money to start attempting to tune it a little but nooooo a car made a right turn in front of me and I went into the side of him. Was just wondering if anyone else has had anything like this happen and how long it took to get the scooter back from garage. I know this will depend on extent of damage etc just wondered if you've had a similar experience to share.

if ya ride it happens ,the old saying is "2 kinds of scooterist , them that have stacked it an them who are going too" , i say theres only 1 kind really them that stack n ride again , you seem to fit that description ,youve only just stopped bouncing an ya want ya scoot back , if its in hands of insurance i'm afraid it aint a quick process , which side of car did ya hit , nearside= obvious his fault =quicker result , offside,as in ya where overtakin, if they dispute liability it will take ages , an just for laughs ive got to ask , how far did ya fly an on the oylimpic gymnasts scoring 10.0 where do ya rate ya landing , best ive done is a 9.7 , if building had been 2" further or had my visor shut reckon it would of been a 9.99 easy. might be worth a copy of scootering an a phone call to the soliciter that advertises in there every month specializing in this sort of ting, an steer well clear of "claims management firms" ,total rip-offs on the whole , H check out "scooterless" by mickingle bout 3-4 threads down from this ,it covers most of this an is recent ,

I know this will depend on extent of damage etc just wondered if you've had a similar experience to share. It happened to me back end of last year. Gutting, and painful - 4 months since and physio isn't shifting even 50 % of the pain in my shoulder (although its not stopping me riding) One word of advice is just keep badgering the insurance company for updates - they chase it up once a week as standard, i phones every two days and made them work. I'm assuming the other party has admitted liability - just be prepared for them to tell you it's a write off, fear the worst and anything better is a bonus.

Hey sorry for late reply... It is a write off .. Liability hasn't been determined yet!!... Seems pretty clear to me but then I would be bias. Got a hire scooter while mine went away.. Proper little asbo bike.. Bright yellow and highest pitched exhaust ?.. Looks like just have to sit and wait now.. Being off work was fun for about 2 days now bored out of my mind!

I had to have an actually bike as a replacement rather than a scooter as they only had automatics and I didn't fancy riding one. Good luck with the claim. I'm sure they will see sense and you get enough money back to pay for a new scooter. Commiserations on the write off.
