went into local builders merchants today and as i walked through the door to the sales counter a vespa cought my eye. i instantly recognised it from scootering magazine from back end of last year some time i think i started dribbeling as are lass tried pulling me away from it .absolutly stunning night owls lens scooters paint job .apparently it belongs to there driver whose delivering to me on thursday afternoon guy at the trade counter said the drivers wife paid for the paint job as a present . i looked at the wife she pulled a face those with another half will know the one hehehe and i said i want a paint job for christmas this year on mine expecting an F you she replied you expect me to save for your scooter to look the same as that i said no i want it claret and amber in candy paint with city gents on the front and the side panels with the team of 83 on it aswell to match my scoots year and she said yes. think shes hoping ill forget or want something else .so the winter project for back end of this year is a custom paint job and while its in pieces it can have a nut and bolt re build

yer right rab ,in ya dreams , best start earning some brownie points ,my spidey senses tell me theres a pinny/hoover/washing up gloves in your future ,that n 10 months of behaving an givin brekkie in bed an ya might have half a chance , might???. H

surely it is just a matter of telling her what you want and she obeys? think that is one of the wedding vows, if not then surely the marriage is a sham and she has never loved you from day one!!! just saying!!!

H is right I've got to behave and help more round the house to stand a chance on this one for nearly a full year F that I'll plan on doing it my self and if she pays for it I can get another toy for my shed

i have mine in for painting at the moment and the wife is fully behind any decision i make on spending her hard earned money, as long as i take her to the rallies this year. A small price to pay i think as i will now have someone to carry the beer.

jesus hully where spose to be in the 21st century not victorian ages , an ya missin a trick ,that "treat em mean,keep em kean"'s alright to a point , but ya catch more women/flies with honey/white wine than vinegar ,an the fringe benifits (fnar/fnar) more than cover the expense , an ya dont have to promise stuff that might not happen, its a scoot after all ,they break down even before loading with rally gear n beer provisions . but fresh paint does still look good on the rally-field or left in the garage ,
an rab ,she's already got ya a compressor n spray gear as a pressie ,dont push ya luck too far, nxt it will be "i know what you can do as re-hab/ease back into work " then points at her doggy euro-box modern car ya hate an says" i fancy pink metallic with green flip go faster stripes " an it will never fit in ya shed , nightmare , H

hahaha hi H my rantings as a male chauvinist pig were purely bravado as the wife who rules me with a rod of iron was not looking over my shoulder at the time!! To be honest she is so laid back and whatever makes me happy makes her happy and vice versa.

which scoot , oh the one from rabs thread we hijacked , sorry rab by the way,he said it was in scootering so a look at there back issues at "classic issues/scootering.com " or sumting like that should give pickys , or theres also "farbenvespa" a german site with hundreds of vesp's an there paint codes ,plenty to scare ya painter with there ,H

ill take a picture next time im in the builders yard if he lets me i dont see any reason not to hes a realy nice fella. its only 2 mins away he asked me to join them on there thursday evening local rides out and invited to meet the baildon scooter club lads as soon as im well enough in there local boozer he knows jack who we seldom see on here these days think he goes into hiding when season is over lol.but as soon as weather gets a bit better and a bit more reliable ill be on the local runs with the baildon guys. the guy who does some of the work on mine and jacks scoots is a member there aswell Who by the way has now purchased himself a quadrophenia KRU replica scooter and shows it on stage for bands and general shows so ill try get a pic of his aswell

Ye Mick they were a scooter club in the 80s a very popular one most of them are now baildon scooter club 2 or 3 have Bradford city scoots. can't wait till I can get to meet them all and get out on rides

saw this in the flesh at scarborough although as H says it is very busy it is a quality paint job and is "ridden not hidden" according to the owner. There were plenty of fine examples there and plenty of ale drunk as well!!
