Hi guys and girls can any one tell me what this is?I picked up my new 150 super today but it has no ignition and the lights are as bright as a footballers wives convention. The bikes been off the road since 96 and the previous owner seems to think it needs a battery fitting to improve the lights.I got a new battery of him but he can't remember how it was wired in.Also there is what's looks like an ignition switch in the bottom left corner that I would like to wire in.Any help most welcom.Cheers Al.

It's been a hell of a long time since I had a Super, but don't remember them having batteries at all.... That said, it certainly looks standard. Wiring would be red to regulator, black to earth.
As for the ignition switch (if that's what it is), it would be a wire from the coil or cdi low tension (red on coil, green on cdi) and then the other side to earth.

weird ,not seen a super with a battery before , maybe a douglas modification as it does look factory done , an its more common on douglas scoots than italians to have batterys , maybe a american spec 1 as they had batterys for the law on parking lights , the ignition switch is def a later owner modification , an i'd wire it like nik says ,but unless you lock the toolbox door its very vunerable to thieving/tampering , H

All scooters imported into the UK from 60? something to about 78 or there abouts had to have a battery fitted to keep a parking light lit. All Piaggio imported scooters had a battery fitted - UK sold - not an import - European market -
Its a voltage rectifier to charge the battery. It is only there to light up the parking lights and maybe the horn - dependent on model - fitting a battery to it will not improve the lights as they are powered from the stator and run 6V....
