recent other threads has re-ignited my quest for gloves that work an stop me shocking pensioners in bus stops by crying/swearing as i have a fag-break/warm-up an the feeling comes back into my fingers .i do a weekly commute of 60 miles every weekend an in the worst times i stop maybe 2-3 times .just to get the feeling back in my fingers for safetys sake ,an also the long term consequences of a riding life off 31years all year round are kicking in .ive a wrist that sounds like breaking twigs an rhuematism/arthritis an dont want it worsening .
enuff old-mans moans anyway, my eye was caught by a advertising supplement in my pop's saturday paper , "www.easylifegroup.com" ,1 off those oap's big phones/comfy slippers/magnifying glasses ,ronco xmas offers, buy this gadget an it will trasnsform ya life type of affairs , an 4 things caught my attention , 1 battery operated electrically heated gloves for ski'ing /mountain walking , but there only advertised as water resistant not proof so am guessing rubber overgloves would be needed in rain .
2 , nasa designed gloves n socks for astronauts , a "aluminised" fabric with heat reflective qualitys ,an they look thin enuff to be worn under my winter gloves that are waterproof ,so i'm giving them a try at 7 quid a pop , if there any good i'll report back .
the other 2 things arent glove related but might be useful on a scoot ,
3 "sealfix" a waterproof/elastic/uv resistant paint that it claims can repair/fill gaps up to 10mm an sticks to just bout everything including "welded sections" , it doesnt look like its overpaintable so would only be used underneath or inside a scoot to seal the seams ,an at 12.99 a 375ml pot seems a bit cheaper than seam sealer paint ,an if its elastic shouldnt be so prone to crack on drying .
4 an for those that lay there scoots up for winter ,a dehumidifying egg, a porcelain egg with silica crystals inside that go pink when needing drying out, which is done in a microwave ,put on the floorboards when a cover is used it will help prevent any condensation/damp causing rust/corrosion ,others use a saucer of salt an ive some 1kilo bags of silica i rescued from packing crates ,but youve got to remember to dry/change em where as this tells ya when its needed ,
ive no connection with this firm an am not recomending this stuff as i havent tried it myself, yet , but am getting the gloves for xmas n reckon i might try the paint too, H
