I'm looking to buy a new Dellorto/Spaco SI carb but want to know what's the difference between Lube/non auto lube carbs as the price difference can be quite a'bit. I pre-mix my for my scoot so need a non-auto carb but can I getaway with a auto instead?? Cheers

Don't think there is any difference apart from the arm where the throttle cable attaches, all the autolube gubbins are in the carb box not the carb itself. From what I just googled price is same for both options, £49.

auto lubes have a drilling the pump feeds oil into that ends in the choke/carb throat , thats why the gaskets for lubes have a hole n older ones dont , ya can use either carb on either type of engine just pre-mix an block holes by gaskets for pre mixes if its a auto lube lump ,an if fitting a non carb to a auto trim outer of throttle cable down by 10-15mm an bend end of slide wire to take the nipple like a non-lube , or swap the wire to a non lube 1 ,they attach to slide the same , if ya get a auto lube carb ya can still pre mix or run auto , if a non-auto youve no choice pre mix for ever , whichever ya get take the jets out n look for a diamond shape with inc stamped in it ,if they aint drop kick em n get sum genuine dellortto 1's at allstyles or tinterweb as the pattern ones are *#**###"%#*** an his ***###%^^$£&, Aaaah thats better , H

Just brought 3 Dellorto carbs from ebay 2 x 24/24,1 x 20 not sure if they are auto or non auto lube but from what I thought and what you said it makes no difference as I run pre-mix only and the scoot never came with a separate oil tank anyway. Cheers again H

^^^^^ H (If buying new, the jets would be different and the slide rod that connects to throttle cable is different) If anyone buys direct from Dellorto you can specify which jets you want for no extra charge (maybe the slide too if you ask nicely)!!

think there the ones i saw on flea-bay ,where they listed as "3 incomplete but will make 1 " . whichever body you go with check the base for flatness/trueness , hold a steel rule edge against it an hold em up against a strong light/sunlight , you dont want to be seeing any gaps/light through between em, very small warpage can be got round by doubling up gaskets , an make sure n use a non auto lube gasket , an torque the carb down to 14-16 foot pounds ,no more ,no less , H
