Don't renew then. Spend the time searching for a cheaper option rather than posting on here Mine gets changed pretty much every year.

if you contact bennets they lower the quote over the phone never except the written quote. i always use bikesure to comapre prices before i pick up the phone get my battle report then go in with online ammo im quite happy to give my cash to someone else if there offering the same cheaper if you can prove you can get it cheaper they usually cave in. as a result this year mine dropped from 180 to 98 with bennets fully comp

Hi I wonder if any one can shed light on my insurance problem?i have been trying to get a quote for my next scoot.A1971 Douglass Vbb 150 super. No matter who I have tried today no one lists the 150 super just the 125.My current insurer for my P200 swinton had to ring the underwriter and gave me a quote of £330.00.A bit blinking steep, my other scoot is just £130.00.Cheers Al.

its usually listed in there boxes just as a "vespa 150" , but i'm confused by your description/name , whats the chassis pre-fix ,as the vbb an the super are 2 diff scoots ,a 71 should be a super i'd of thought , very similar to a vbb shape an style just slightly thinner/shorter floor n less "bubble" to the panels . i run a super but a later 76 1 with the squarer headlight , an ive found swinton always gives lowest quotes but when time to pay comes theres extra's bringing policy upto or higher than others , i use carol nash on classic scoots ,an hastings direct or bennets on others . Both me and our lass are with Bennetts. Both pay around £75 full comp, mine on a PX125 with full bike licence and our lass on a PK 50 with full car licence. Neither built any no claims yet as been out the scene nigh on 30 yrs!!! Was well pleased with their quotes

My quotes are coming in at £300+ for 3rd party insurance. Is that normal for a 22 year old first time driver?? Seems like a lot compared with the prices I'm seeing on here...can I expect that figure to decrease in the next year?

yep. they load ya policy coz its odds on you'll crash in 1st year . an it also goes by ya postcode . my mot guy runs same bike as me an is 15 years younger but his insurance is nearly half mine . i live in a city him in a crimeless village . my v100 last year was 80 fully comp with the tune/kit declared . this year they upped to 120 on the automatic renewal. as its in care of my mate now i jogged em on ,thieving gits . my v50 is costing me 60 ,but i'm not declaring the px177 ive jammed up its backside .best not crash it i guess . I was £160 for my p200 because it has/had a 125 engine in it and im pretty sure i dont get any no claims benifits, my camper van wasnt that much more for me and the mrs to drive it, when i acted stupid and said it was a vespa 125, no one would touch it even though thats all it says on logbook.

H My camper was on limited mileage, i was happy with my camper quote cause it included breakdown, just thought my scooter insurance was a bit much, only done 360 mile on it so far and wrap it in cotton wool and kill anyone who looks at it the wrong way.

Ive been with Carol Nash for 8 yrs always wondered how good they were , ive had 8 scoots insured with them for 280 Fully comp , i bought a GTS 300 at 3pm that had been standing for 9 months and drove it home , it went on fire at 3.45pm while i was riding it LOL they paid me out in 3 weeks no questions asked , all the documents were under the seat and they still paid out before i gave copys , so i stayed with them this year !

Going through quidco or suchlike can harvest a bit of cashback. Personally i should receive £22 back on a Bennetts policy price of £80 I took out today.

got quoted £158 from Carol Nash, fully comp Lambretta Li125 (186 mugello) & P200e (215 pinasco kitted), with breakdown and no excess. Thought that this was OK since gocompare was saying £150 for just the vespa.

Oh where do I start... Just spent over an hour on the phone with a rep from Carole Nash insurance. This sorry saga started by me going through The bike insurer website, trying to get insurance for a Px125 disc, fitted with a P200cc engine( I know you know what's coming!!!.)The bike insurer website sent me a load of quotes, after filling in all the details, including the 200cc engine, I liked the look of a middle of the price range policy from Carol Nash, as it had recovery,£100,000 legal expenses and a free DNA+ protection system thrown in.
Did all this on Monday 4th,with the policy to start on the 5th, the payment went through, but the pdf file of the policy they sent was corrupted, so I couldn't check if all the details were correct! Sent them an email explaining this and asked them to resend the pdf file and/or a hard copy.Got a hard copy this morning and checked it and guess what? Yip, it was a policy for a px125 disc, fitted with a 125cc engine, not the 200cc policy I require.
After over an hour on the phone this morning trying to fix the problem, the rep said it was my fault as I hadn't declared the engine change (I had!!never seen the point in lying) and they were going to cancel the policy and charge me £22 for one days insurance!! I tried pointing out to the rep, that I never had one days insurance as the policy was wrong,so I wasn't covered and I couldn't check the pdf file they sent on the 4th as it was corrupted!! Or I would have cancelled it on the 4th!!🙊😲😤 And the first of me being able to check it was today, when a paper copy of the policy came this morning!!😤. After some discussion he said if I took out a new policy with them today, they would cancel the £22 fee.Now going back to the martial art I practiced and one of it's tenant's, which is "I shall speak out against injustice" I told him that was unacceptable and said I'd complain to trading standards and the insurance ombudsman! As well as putting it on forums, Facebook etc.😎.He said he check with a supervisor, then came back saying the £22 charge was dropped and my refund in full would be in my bank account in 3-5 days ( the scamming bar stewards 🙊)
Now going to spend the day phoning around for new quotes 😲.
Happy scootering.
Mij 😟

carole nash can be a bit of a problem. I had to ring them three times to keep telling them the correct details of the bikes. Then they sent me a written policy that was incorrect, together with someone elses insurance quote! I went ape - especially since this was the day after the new data protection laws came in and I had a complete strangers insurance policy details! Several phone calls later and everything is sorted. Just loving riding the smooth Pinasco 215cc vespa, even though i cant go faster than 45mph for the first few hundred miles.
