I was riding merrily along the quiet, undulating Cornish lanes this morning when I came to a dip in the road. I needed to change down to give me some grunt for the hill ahead, so I pulled my clutch in – then I remembered I was on my bike not my scooter! The sudden application of the back brake at speed caused me to lurch forward, whack my nethers on the stem and come to an unceremonious stop in a well-stocked blackberry bush. Must try to remember which vehicle I’m riding on sleepy Sunday mornings.
