Hi Dave, I consider taking the mudguard off one of the trickiest jobs on our prides. You basically have to take the fork off, which means taking the headset off. To take the headset you need to disconnett all of the command cables (and most probably having to replace them) and untie the electrics. I probably made it sound a bit worse than it is, let me know if you want more details.

It's a 1/2 hour job, give it a go, best if you get the ring spanner for the top nut though..

BUT again, both jobs require some knowledge.. and at least one right hand...if not two

I personally used a 4" cuttting blade and some earplugs. Really you should be ok, classics haven't got hydraulic brakes so just undo at the wheel end and drop that sucker out. Renewing the bearing is a good idea, saves doing it all again some other day. Taking off and replacing the guard is obvious once you've got that far. Give yourself the morning or afternoon so you can take your time and do it properly. And, the nut you have left over at the finish is vital to the safety of the scooter.

how the hell do i get the front mud guard off my T5 classic is it a big job? Gotta say i did this and it was easy..loosen the headset bolt and drop theforks down. A T5 classic has a drum brake, so no bleeding required. Defo a 2 man job though
