hi all, i was looking on sips site and came across the polini air filter kit for the px. it includes a new filter to go on the airbox instaed of the rubber bellows and a venturi thingy to go on top of the carb. has anyone fitted one ?? and if so are they any use?? cheers dave

yep there sweet ,but ya wont really notice a diff unless you do other stuff first/aswell ,well not as much diff as they cost, what carb/tune/exhaust ya runnin, if memory serves you upgraded to a sip2 from stock, did you drill the standard filter aswell, H

Hot air from engine compartment and a lot of induction noise? Not for me I think.

Mine's crisper and better at bottom and mid range, and that's compared to a 28mm dellorto.
You do get a bit more induction noise over standard, a noise I like, but not as much as a big carb. The biggest advantage is the bellmouth, it creates a proper venturi effect and gives a much better atomisation of fuel. Yes mine's kitted but fitted SIP Road and it was nice, fitted Polini induction kit and it was better. Wouldn't be without one now when using standard carb.

Bellmouth would be good no doubt. I just don't like the idea that engine breathes warm air. If there were any kit which includes some kind of filter for original rubber duct I would buy it right away. I actually tried to install layer of foam filter inside the rubber duct with metal mesh. It collected dirt quite well, but I just couldn't trust it enough. So I now have standard filter without bellmouth.
