have been trying to fit a new bottom fork bearing race it went into the tube but there is still a 3 - 4mm gap between race and tube. think i need to start again but now can get race out of tube anyone have an idea how this is done?

if im right ill be corrected if not you have to get the old bearing cup out it doesn't come out with the rest of it nor does it come out easy it sounds like you haven't taken it out

I usually use a broom handle, mallet and lots of swearing.

ive a bit of re-bar ,12mm concrete re-inforcing bar offcut from any building site,an it helps to put a little bend in 6" from end an then grind the end back square so it catches on the lip of race inside the frame . then add swbnic's mallet n naughty words an it comes out, but dont just hit on 1 side ,try to knock it out evenly moving the drift around the circle or it can tilt an get tighter making it harder , H
