Looking at the new jackets in the Tucano Urbano range. Has a rider any knowledge of them? Are they as good as their spiel says and more importantly, to me at least, are they heavy? Any info would be appreciated. Dave Hughes Liverpool

Hi, i've got one, i got the Tucano Urbano Giacco Trip AB Jacket from scooter crazy.
I've worn it in a full on hailshower and my upper body remained bone dry. I only have the armour on the elbows, but its not heavy at all. I have ridden it without the inner jacket on hot days, but probably shouldnt have done. All in all im well impressed. The amount of pockets is a big bonus.

Many thanks Mickingle. Good of you to reply. I have a Weiss jacket which I used when I had my Ducati, but it's too heavy and tiresome. You mentioned Scooter Crazy and I suppose I should start a new thread, but how did you find them when buying your jacket? I have a front rack on order from them and was promised 5 days delivery. This was told to me via a phone call on June 26th. Phoned them again last Friday after a no show and was told the middle of this week. It appears they do not have the item in stock when you order and it will be delivered in 5 days after they receive it. They tell me it's made clear on their web-site, but obviously not when you telephone an order. My money, by the way, was taken out of my bank the following day. So I'm not very impressed with them.
Thanks again Dave

Hi Dave, I can only speak from experiance, but found them great to be honest. Bought the new PX from them, along with a new helmet, coat, gloves etc, and they gave me a decent discount. It was all in shop though, not ordered through the website. Small print on websites is always an awkward one.

I've been using a Turcanno Urbano jacket for over 3 years now, I can't remember the style but it has 2 sloping top pockets and is styled loosely on the Belstaff/Barbour stylee. It had removeable CE armour for elbows, shoulders and back (I don't use the back one) and a removeable inner linner. I have found it brilliant although it could do with re-proofing at the moment as water is finding its way in throught the sleaves. It is a bit heavy with the linner fitted but it is VERY warm in the winter. I remove mine during the summer and with the flaps either side of the main zip folded back and secured with the supplied press studs allows a very cooling breeze in through the full hight mesh panels on each side of the zip.
All in, I thinks its a brilliant jacket, quite stylish and full functional.

Coaster, good of you to reply. I appreciate your "bit heavy" remark, as I hate wearing anything that is too heavy. Many thanks Dave Hughes Liverpool

Got the tucano urbano giacca trip and also the tucano urbano WSP jackets both superb quality as are all tucano urbano products that i have had but have always found you have to get next size up apart from gloves. I don't find either of the jackets particularly heavy.

I've a Frank Thomas all seasons jacket, no weight to it at all, but the most waterproof jacket I've ever owned. On the other hand, I have Tucano Urbano handlebar muffs which are 12 years old and still doing their job.
