I was surprised to see my speedo reach 50+miles yesterday and this morning again and no i had no tailwind or someone pushing me and there was me feeling all sad cause my 21 year old PX125 wouldn't do more than 40 well, it does now!!

I know people will disagree with me but old scooter speedos are as accurate as blind darts players (no offence intended to anyone). My speedo gives up trying to move at anything beyond 50 and I know i'm doing more. 21 year old px, has it had new rings or a rebore ever. if it genuinely only does 50 then replace the tired top end with a nice shiney 166 malossi.

Hahaha no i clocked with my mates car so it should be pretty accurate. I've been thinking of going down that road but I bet it will then need more new things. I might just swap the engine for a 200cc one with a malossi 210:) a nice cranckshaft a big carb and an HP4 flywheel. Now that I woke up from the dream I'll see where I can get the money to do all these:)

I won't disagree with you Mike, Lu thought we were doing 60 on the way back from Liverpool last night. I pointed out that when your speedo's going 60-40-60-40, it's best to take something in the middle as your approximate speed.

By the way, congratulations on your 50th post, and promotion to the next level of membership. I tried to adjust that so it was a bit more generous, but it seems the forum provider has given us that option.
