This weekend I will be mostly : replacing every single cable on my Scoot.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated as I think it will be quite a job.

use a old bit of inner cable to help you thread the new cables through the frame

i ordered some cables too.... im planing to do the same soon never done it before..
be sure to tie the old and the new cables well together, but in a way that the joining point wont get stuck somewhere in the frame....
i think i would use a bit of grease on the new cable... but grease it after you attach it to the new one, so your adhesive tape wont slip and get the cable stuck somewhere in the middle of the process...

Full set of cables inner and outer only £23, I thought thats its never going to be easier than now when the scoot is stripped down to the frame. It will still be a big job though, but well worth it in my eyes. front and back brake clutch 2 x gears throttle choke speedo Should keep me occupied for a little while.

Good advice given so far, it will be a bit easier with the scoot frame stripped and headset off/tank out if you do end up losing one in there! best of luck!

cheers bryno, I have bought a roll of extra tacky gaffer tape to connect old and new cables, and will be gently easing them in one at a time.
What a way to spend a weekend, haha, can't wait.
Oh thats if my respray has hardened enough to handle the frame, I won't be impatient and ruin my paint job. Its taken long enough to get done (2 weeks, thats the trouble when a mate does it in between jobs on the cheap for you)

I replaced all mine during the winter, it was a job that I was def. not looking forward to. However It turned out to be much easier than expected. Do the job slowly, make sure you tape the outers well together and use a combination of pulling and pushing and you'll walk the job! Are you using standard cables or nylon lined? Only asking because I started with nylon lined but ended up reverting to standard ones as the nylons were a fair bit bigger in diameter and it was a struggle to get the inners to fit in my headset runners (the older headset runners must be smaller than T5, PX etc). Dont forget pictures when completed!
