I'm also planning on getting some next month. Was speaking to a bloke in the know about it the other day, reckons I'm best paying the extra for the Continentals.

From what I have heard from other people, they are actually called "Sava ditchfinders", go Continental matey, the Sava's are dogsh*t and dangerous.

yes i heard the same rumors about them sava's apparenly the just dont grip at all, pays to spend that little bit extra, and as scooter tyres prices are cheap you may aswel buy the best

There's definitely a thread running on this somewhere in the forum, I just can't find it.
Continental - good Sava - bad
Buy cheap, buy twice.

I have Continentals fitted to my scoot and until recently a Sava as a spare. As a little experiment i tried swapping the Sava with the front and back and the results were not impressive. Although the Sava's weren’t downright dangerous they didn't inspire me with any confidence whatsoever. You could feel the scoot sliding from both ends at slowish cornering speeds which may be entertaining when your ready for it but is scary when your not – and this was in the dry.
Not only will you "buy cheap buy twice" you will quite probably end up with a repair bill as well!

There seems to be quite a big difference in price, so I would say that there is probably a big difference in quality. Its not like there is only a few quid difference, from what I have seen they are nearly double, but from what people are saying, worth the expense. I have no experience of either, but can vouch for normal black conti's which I use and are great.
What about the discs that you can put on normal tyres to make them look just like imitation, pretend, stupid, fake whitewalls? don't you fancy them?

Get a pair of S1s and buy a set of stick on white walls, that way you have the VERY BEST of both worlds, incidentally Savas truly are sh*te!!!

I am running on Continental whitewalls they are good in all weathers so far , I personally would not like the idea of anything between the tyre and the rim ie inserts . Tyres are like anything you get what you pay for.

Mark, they don't go anywhere near the rim, they just stick onto the sidewall! As for S1s being no good in the wet, fair point, but then no tyre is good in the wet if you ride like a lunatic ;D Never had a problem with them at all and I ride in ALL weathers.
