Hi All, I checked the large Allen key bolts inside the air box housing and they were a bit loose, when I tighten them up the throttle sticks open and the slider in the carb does not return, but if I back off the large Allen keys it returns fine, can anyone help on what may be causing this. Also when I bought her the previous owner has disconnected the pre lube and mixes the oil in the tank but uses one and a half mixing jugs in with 5lters of fuel, I feel that this is two much and looking at the plug it is running very rich, will it hurt to reduce this to one jug. the oil is Rock oil 2K Plus, Thanks in advance

cant help on the Allen bolts but on the fuel mix use your 2stroke cap as a measure 1 cap for every pounds worth of fuel it works for me fine and has done for the last 3 months without fault checked my plug last week and its burning fine

Fuel/oil pre mix ratio is 2%. As to the carb sticking on the slide when the carb is tightened down, there must be some distortion in the carb body. Easily done if the socket cap screws (allen bolts) have been 'torqued' up to shear; then back half a turn!!!! Lots of stuff on this site about creating a flat carb base. Do a search.

Short term bodge which will see you right if the warp isn't too bad: Stick a second gasket under the carb.

longer term fix, take the carb off and run it over some wet & dry in figures of 8 on a piece of glass/mirror until perfectly flat again.
I'd not mess with the oil mix, the autolube does I believe mix at slightly less than 2%, but for premixing stick to 2%. Running rich is probably more a jetting issue.

I like the "one capful per pounds worth of fuel" So your oil usage completely depends on whether you get your juice from Tesco or Shell? Buy a proper oil jug you tight arse.
