Hi all,
My grandfather (who lived in Italy) bought a new vespa in the late 60's early 70's. I remember riding on it as a kid
The bike has been sat in my uncle's garage for the last 25 years and he has agreed to give it to me.
THE PROBLEM: the bike is in Naples, Italy and I live in London.
All I know so far is that it was a 50cc and did not need a number plate or to be register back then.?.?.?
I know a guy how said he will transport it back in his lorry for me for £250 but he has asked me for paperwork...... I don't have any.
what documents are required to import a vespa into the UK on this age vespa?
Thanks Claud10

Sounds good.
I dont believe you need any documents to transport it to the UK (as it's coming from EU, there is no VAT or import duty to pay).
You will only need to sort documents to get it ready for the road;
Dating certificate from the VCB, Insurance, then MOT, then a V55c form for the DVLA and you will get issued with a UK reg
(unless the system has changed in the last couple of years, maybe someone can advise on that)
If the driver wants something to confirm legal ownership, you could just get your uncle to put in writing the transfer of ownership from him to you.

Thanks for your reply bryno. This is a great help. I will be transporting the bike and it should be with me mid to late Feb. I will then update the site with pics and no doubt be asking many questions from there.
