How do you fix the fold down part of a rack down for use? Probably a simple answer but I can't work it out. Bought a second hand rack and its got no instructions for thickos like me.

I've only ever come across one rack that had a little hook to hold the fold-down part down, a matt black rear rack for a T5 from SIP. Every other one I've seen it's just the weight of whatever's strapped to it that holds it down.

I find a 24 pack of beers holds it down nicely

Only if you've got a tube running from the beers to your mouth.

Yup, although I learned the hard way that you should really try and strap supermarket shopping bags to the rack properly. Don't think the car behind me was too chuffed at me shedding hot roast chicken down the road in my wake. Thank god it wasn't beer else i'd have been REALLY upset...

I use a tree tie from a garden centre, its like a small belt about 5 inches long and 0.5 inch wide with a buckle!!
Not very stylish but it works!!!!
