Hi guys,
been reading the forum for a couple of months. Great job!!!
I got a PX125EFL which I finished restoring the chassis and its now on the road. My problem is that it wont do more than 45miles top speed. I come from Greece and my px125 disc used to do about 60mph.
Are they restricted in the UK? Or is my Simonini exhaust jammed?
In other words, px125efl 1984 model is it ok doing 45mph max?
Thanks

Sorry mate, welcome to vespa.org.uk by the way.
I wouldn't have thought it's your Simonini, they're really only to make your scooter sound better and don't add much to your performance. Unless it's totally clogged, or there's a potato jammed in it or something.
I'll bring this thread to the attention of our resident anorak Smallframe, he can usually diagnose a problem.
Which part of Greece are you from? PM me if you don't want the entire world to know.

cheers for the reply:)
well i changed the exhaust to a polini cause I like the sound better. I tuned the carb a bit and it seems to be going better now.
I'm from Corfu btw. So if any of you are going on hols there I'll give you all the tips of where to go:)
I think, I'm just going to swap the engine with a 200 that i have back home sitting in the garage. That should solve ALL problems:)

Some exhausts do require an adjustment of the jetting to maintain performance, but Simoninis are pretty standard. Never used a Pollini so don't know about them.
Been to Corfu a couple of times, also done Crete, Kos and Kalymnos. I'd like to move out there and run a scooter hire place, but I think I need to have a few more holidays first and put it down to Research & Development!
