cleaning chrome mirrors

just bought my first vespa...so excited to get riding

quick ? i have noticed the chrome bits for the mirrors look a bit unloved ( could turn rusty) anyone know the cheapest / home remedies i can use to polish them up with

WD40 or coke (the drink stuff )...or if you want to spend £5 quid- autosol
