Hello there You need to get an extended seat pillar,(correct me if im wrong anyone) they are simple to install, just unscrew the old one and put in the new one. therye nort expensive either. You can get these from your local dealer if not Beedspeed and Allstyle scooters stock them.

How do,
I've had the same problem but with a different sort of backrest. The extended seat pillar done the trick for me sort of ... in that it would stop the little bas*ards getting into it but it also does a pretty good job of stopping me 'n all as it jams better than Bob Marley. Hopefully you won't have the same trouble. I've put the normal seat pillar back on until I figure out how to stop the locking problem.
See the topic 'backrests' started by me ... is a couple of topics down on this board ... might give you a a few pointers. It's a bit of a mammoth thread, the stuff you might be interested in is near the bottom.
Ta, Dan.

Heh - wish i'd found this forum sooner - would have saved me sawing out 2 little gaps in my seat for it to fit over the chrome bits of the backrest!

Ditto jazzmasta, I did that. I also drilled a hole in my rack bracket for the seat post to go through as it was in totally the wrong place, I suppose it might be a px rack and the seatpost is maybe in a different position on a px from a T5? although the tank bolts and the number plate bolts lined up perfectly. Got it off ebay for £12.50 so not too worried, will do me for now. Gaz
