Well my PX was sealed just with the pressure of the speedo squashing up against the rubber seal etc. It wasn't a sealed-for-life type instrument on my PX200EFL. Had to change mine as it had a nasty scratch across it that wouldn't polish out. I didn't get this lens kit (which is a great idea) but used another speedo lens I had from another spare speedo in the spares box!!!!

Couldn't get the original to come off, took me a day to do that alone, then couldn't get the new one on at all. AFAIK it's still sitting at the back of the garage somewhere, where I threw it in disgust.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO don't remind me! I couldn't fit the damn chrome new trim for love nor money. Tried all the tricks and wrinkles. Ended up using the black rubber stuff which :- a) was far easier to fit, and b) actually looked better on my scooter!!!!!!!!!!

The shiny alloy trim is a doddle to fit it you think it through, use hot water and a smear of grease, and have a mate to help you. Last one I did was on in half an hour It's only difficult if the legshields aren't straight

Tried all that on my non kinked legshields.................no luck. No mate to help though so that must be the reason........... not. Differing qualities of material I expect. The new stuff came with the scooter from the seller as the original was cracked.

A smear of grease all the way down the gutter of the legshields. A bucket of VERY hot water. Dunk the trim in while you lift the handlebars off. Mate on one side, you on the other and drop it over the top. The hardest bit is the top as you obviously have to get across the width of the legshields. Do that bit by bit with your mate holding the trim at the top where it's already on, to stop it popping back off. I used a screwdriver handle to encourage it downwards, a mallet is too heavy!
Job done.
All that said, I think the black trim looks better too!
