Been out on a 100 mile round trip today, fair bit through town, I've had a problem with what I take to be fuel evaporation, after ticking over at lights or whatever, the engine nearly dies as I go to pull away, near cut out a few times, soon as I give it some revs it's back to normal and no problems on the move.. It's been hot today, but not exactly cracking flags, does anyone else experience this problem? didn't have it through last summer

Is it dying as the engine ticks over, or when you actually start to apply revs?

Ticks over fine, it then bogs down when I apply throttle, I can get it to stall if I open the throttle too fast.. if I give it a second to pick up, it's fine again. It's doing it again today Any ideas? I'm sure it's fuel related, and only happens if I tick over for a min or so, when on the move it's fine..

sounds like you should tune the carb mixture

Yes it sounds like the engine's flooding when you open the throttle.

Could be.. I did set the mixture the other week, following the manual, just found the point where it ticks over fastest and most even.. any other thoughts on how to set it up?

could be a little raise in the rpm at idle might solve this maybe the carb is set too low right now..

Hi, I had the same prob on my scoot, 2 probs in one 4 me tho. 1st was the flywheel oil seal leaking (can be checked by inserting your finger inside cover) 2nd was a carb jet blocked with a bit of sh*te Replaced seal and cleaned out jets n it now runs sweet. Hope this helps, Daz

Cheers guys, I stripped the carb down again, gave it a good clean out and it seems to be better now, though we're only seeing 20 degrees down here at the mo ;D Not got any oil leaks thankfully and mixture seems to be ok, it ticks over real smooth, well as smooth as a T5 ever will be
