Bike starts and runs, but indicators,brake light and rear light do not.Headlight and side light burn very dim. No lights or fuel gauge working on clock.Horn works. Any ideas anybody please.

wel the horn comes staraight off the battery so tht should be fine anyway, your magneto maybe on its last legs if you rev the engine do the lights go a lot brighter??

No battery on this model. The lights do not get brighter when revved. Think it my be a problem with the stator wiring.

it is most probably the stator (magneto), if not the only other thing i can think of is the voltage regulator but the stator sounds like it needs replacing

I would think you have a trapped wire shorting things out.Try disconnecting rear light.Check wires under both handlebar switches or it could even be horn wires touching frame.Check terminals on bulb holder are not touching.Another possibility is switch wires cut through on travel down handlebars to horn cast connector block Just keep checking and disconnecting certain things

Pol, there are two reasons why I'd agree with Barry (scooterwarehouse):
1. The exact same thing happened to a mate of mine on the way back from Tenby a couple of years ago and it turned out a wire was touching the frame inside his horncast and causing a short, and
2. Barry is a professional scooter mechanic.

yer id try scooterwarehouses suggestion dont waste ure time on the stator until uve checked the wiring

just a shot in the dark, it may be that the minus cable is loose. on my 2001 model its connected to the grill..

Turns out it was the regulator. popped a new one on. Works a treat now. Later models have a different rewgulator, so just check what your buying. Cheers for all the help everyone.
