Hello folks... Can anyone help me out wilt this..!! Ive just bought some Cuppini Florida Bars, for my New PX 125....I have worked out how to fix the bracket for the foot rest bit to the bolts on the floor... but i havent got a clue where the bracket goes at the back for the rear left & right side of the bars.. im guessing ive got to take the plastic bumper off.. i dunno!! & is there any drilling involved... as my scoot is brand new.. & drilling holes in to her would be like pulling teeth for me..!! The crash bars ive got are all in chrome.. with no plastic..
Any help on this would be verry much appreciated..
All the best Gerard.

Hi Gerard. As far as I know the only crash bars you need to drill your frame for are front ones. I nearly vomited when I had to drill holes in my legshields to fit mine. I think for the Floridas they bolt on under your number plate (the bottom number plate bolts hold them in place). There should be a black plastic noddle on either side that you can unscrew to pivot the crash bars upwards so you can take your side panels off without unbolting the hole affair (although I can't see the noddles on this picture). Someone on here must have some fitted to either confirm or correct this. Eltjo (mod1969)'s got some I think.

Thank you Spence.. i'll try this in the Morning then & post how i get on...... i was just looking at the bracket that bolts to the floor with the foot rest...is there anything i could put just between the bracket & the floor to help keep the floor from being damaged, eroding, rusting ,ect.... like some silicone, rubber washers, or cut out a bit of rubber to fit under the bracket before mounting to the floor.. or would doing this cause more problems!! Spence, you must have had the front legshield crash bars fitted then..! I think they look Great on & i want to have them fitted also.. but like you say its the drilling...... ive only just drove this brand new out of the shop last Saturday "Silver 2007" like the one in the pic...!! & ive fitted a deep front carrier to allow room for the front legshield crash bars.... but ive only just learnd that you gotta drill two holes in to the front of the legshield for this...GRRRRRRR lol cant bring myself to do it... ) All the best Gerard.

No mate that's Wally's from Jersey, I just lifted it from the Reader's Scoots page as a good example. Mine's the black PX that's on the left hand side of the homepage, and that's my Sprint on the avatar to the left of my posts.
There's probably as many bodges as there are scooterists. For instance, when I fitted a new old stock rear carrier to the Sprint, I didn't want it to scratch the paintwork so I bought a couple of packs of plastic plumbing washers and inserted them as necessary.
I've also got some pillion footrests bolted to the floorboards of the PX, which are essentially the same as that part of your Florida bars. If you fit them securely and keep them clean and dry you shouldn't have any problems with moisture getting under them.
For a long time I refused to do any drilling to my frame so I used a standard front carrier to bolt spots and mirrors to, but I was never entirely happy with the look of it so I eventually took a deep breath, bought the crashbar and got the Bosch out. If I were you and had a brand new PX, I don't think I'd do any drilling until I was ABSOLUTELY sure that was what I wanted to do.

GRRRRRRRR, looks like im going to have to drill after all.... i think with this rear bracket bit.. it just sits on top of the bumper so you can mark out where the two holes are on the bracket..then "DRILL" & fix the two bolts through the bracket & on tho the body.. But i'l have to get the right bolts for this as there were none provided with the (florida bars)... which led me to believe that they fitted on to bolts that were already fixed to the bike when bought new... This is begining to be a bit of an education for my non mechenical mind.... But still "onwards & upwards".... if any of you fine folks can tell me any different i would verry much appreciate it... Thanks Spence & Verry nice scoots you have by the way.
Ive still got to introduce my self here with you folks but & will do shortly.... THANK YOU & all the best.
Gerard<<<<<<< in sunny Belfast, for a change.
