They're excellent kit as long as you get everything in place before you try it. Are these the ones with an overheat indicator? If so, attach it to the cylinder head instead of the plug - they have a tendency to reset if you fasten the thermocouple link to that.
Check out Twisted Rods for prices on these, I'm sure they had them in stock (Twisted Rods are the part of Welsh Scooter Parts that got things right....)

I've installed the SIP Speedo as of a few days ago. Took a bit longer than I thought but its fantastic! So far so good. I'll test it once it thaws!
If anyone is doing the same and need to know where the wires go on a PX just ask.

Yes it does look good. Nice to have an analogue tacho with a digital speedometer built into the 'original' housing. Very neat.

On the digital display (scrolled with the button) there is also a digital rev counter which I hope is more accurate. Revving it up on the stand (and to annoy the neighbours).....on the analogue rev counter my Polossi revs to nearly 10800! On the digital its 10200 which is more like it, just under the limit for catastrophic conrod failure

This engine is just built for speed. The oil will last longer than the piston

This engine is just built for speed. The oil will last longer than the piston Don't you ever worry it'll go 'pop' at some crtical moment ie. just as you pull out for a quick get-away across a busy junction or overtaking this annoying articulated lorry on a single-either-way road etc? I had that happen once on a Garelli 50 many many years ago. Got alongside the cab only for the engine to go and it was a question of 'sliding' back alongside the lorry with clutch pulled in and then tuck in front of a car following the lorry so I could coast to the verge. All with no indicators other than the left hand that I daren't let go of the clutch lever. This grief for a totally melted Champion Gold Palladium spark plug that had cost me a eighth of my total weekly wage back then!!!!!!!

I know what you mean but that's all part of the excitement of a tuned scooter The motorcycles I have are all ridiculously fast and highly reliable but I think scooters are more exciting, more fun and far less chance of getting banned (again )!

PXGERU. Ever thought of just tuning Go-Peds? Tiny wheels, tiny two-stroke engines, poor brakes. Fits the bill completely!!!!!! ;D

Already done that too.......25 years ago I had a bare bones Lammie ;D Wasn't as fast as this one tho!

You 'chopped' a Lammie into a skele? Aaaagggggggg. Besides, I had a go-ped (no, only a single engined one), which got tuned a bit by Moi. Had 27mph out of it on those tiny wheels and it felt bl%dy fast I can tell you. Checked against a satnav too so that 64mph on YT ped is totally loony.

It wasn't me that chopped it! but it was just a phase I was going through ;D
I did try one of those.......motorized skateboards once and once only! Lethal.

I think you need Uba balance control for one of those! I think these wide deck ones look better perhaps???

I've had a cut down SX220, a cut down GT200, and a couple of lesser ones. They're mine, I'll do what i want with them. The GT was a good one though.

Fitted my SIP speedo and am very pleased with it, on a 2002 MY Px all attributes seem to work spot on. My only fitting tip I haven't seen elsewhere on the web is that the power box I put under the headlamp which made it easier to refit the headset cover.

Haven't a scooby what it does, that's its name in the instruction manual. You connect one side to your power source and the other to the speedo.

Isn't it a capacitor type device, supposedly designed to ensure there is a permanent current supply?

I have tested it on the road now and it works great......so far, so good ;D I did manage to squeeze my "power" box in under the speedo. There is just enough space if the cables are routed ok. It is a bit tight and next time I am in there I might move it somewhere else. Would be much more room without the speedo cable though! Does anyone know the list of parts required for the optional electronic speed pick up?
