Hi mate
welcome to the site:) You can use the Haynes Manual for the PX, things are similar and as far as i remember it covers the cosa as well.
where abouts are you based?

Hi, Thanks for the reply, i am in Birmingham. I have just got the scooter to do up over the winter. i was told that there is not alot of difference with the parts from this to a PX, and the hardest thing to find will be a headset (but have also been told i can use a MK1/T5 square headlight model headset.) could anyone confirm any of this for me. Also i will be looking to drop a bigger engine and carb in it, is this possible and will i have to stick to a cosa 200 or can i go towards the PX range.

Dear twinnynolan,
Hi to you. I have an old Cosa too. I think you are correct in the headset options although look on ebay as the Germans love Cosas (unlike the UK scooterboys of the 80's). there is often a lot of Cosa parts on there.
As for changing the engine you would need a Cosa 200 one. The engines are similar but have a few differences. The crucial one though is the gearchange on a Cosa uses just one thick wire cable. On a PX it is two and I don't think there is an easy way to get around this.
The brakes and wheel rims (wider) are quite different to the normal PX ones as the brakes are semi hydraulic and are linked. Hope this helps! Keep us posted. The Cosa has really mutated into the Vespa GT/GTS.
happy scootering!

Hi again... Write there are a few German manuals!! I have never found a good UK one but Allstyles have this... www.allstylesonline.co.uk/acatalog/BOOKS-MANUALS.htmlThis is a Cosa parts book which gives all the parts info/numbers/diagrams. Use the Haynes PX manual for everything else. I do hope this helps.
