Hi all, Currently restoring a 1980s V9B1T US spec Vespa 100 Sport small frame the one with two side panels, indicators etc. I am not going overboard on it as I just want to get it on the road so because of this was wondering what your views would be on trying to keep it near to what it looked like when it left the factory? Now here is my problem and this is where i am stuck on what to do. I can not get or too expensive the following parts original rear bracket that holds the brake light and number plate, I dont think I can source the original brake light, I have a new one but not the exact one. Brackets that hold the rear indicators, near on impossible, found one that was chrome, mine are black. 2 x original indicators (expensive) Fuel on/off switch Reflectors for mudguard
So even if I did manage to source one or two of the above as i cant get the number plate holder, is it worth putting the indicators on and reflectors. If not would it devalue the scoot and would I need to change the switch for the MOT so that it doesnt show that it had indicators. It it really necessary to keep it as near to the original and would you keep the indicators on even if I could get others non matching to replace them. thanks mike

if the indicators match then I'd put them on. You may find that you fail the MOT without them due to its age.
you could put a pair of black ones on for now until you manage to find a pair to replace them with the ones you want to have on there.

Just get it up and running. The rear light is the same on as Serveta were using at that time IIRC, so you may be able to track one down that way.
Look for the small frame forum, they will be able to help you. I've not got a link to it, but if you're struggling i know the bloke who runs it.

Bryn - does that equate to 'I took the ugly thing off and put on a proper one'?

^ LOL, I admit that on my Jet 200 I did it all original down to the rubber floor mats and colour..
..but I just had to change the rear light for one off an earlier model !
