Mirrors aren't a legal requirement on a scooter, and in some ways, not having any helps your observation and awareness because it makes you look over your shoulders to check your blind spots instead of getting into bad habits.
I've never got my hands on an ET4, so I don't know how the mirrors are fixed. Maybe someone else does?

Despite the fact all bikes/scoots look more "cool" without mirrors I personally wouldnt ride without mirrors being in central London...I like to see whats going to hit me!!!!
I too had great fun with ET mirrors. As I remember (dont quote me), one side just screws directly into the headset...you just have to line it up as best you can before you put it in the hole (ooh er). The otherside does indeed have a nut which you tighten up from below the headset. Hope this helps.

When i did my CBT last year they wouldn't let me use my scooter because it had no mirrors, apparently after a certain year mirrors were made compulsory?

Hmm, maybe they're just compulsory for the CBT. If you have a scooter that was designed to have mirrors, I think they'd insist you had them fitted for it. I don't see how they could insist you fit mirrors to a classic scooter.
If it was a requirement, classic scooters wouldn't sail through their MOT, like my new Sprint 150 has.

It was a 2001 PX125, they said that they were needed for bikes/scooters from a certain year, the year was much later than a classic.

Seems a bit strange talking about scooters with no mirrors when some have about 20...... yours looks like you have a few.

Hi to you guys. Yes indeed!!
I believe that any scoot or bike after 2001 that came with mirrors originally must have them fiitted for an MOT pass. This changed I think in Jan this year. I scraped through this year (on a 3 year old P200) by pleading ignorance/dumbness and then crying when he said it should be a fail!
The MOT man told me to put them back on for next year! He is a very nice man. He always offers me £20 for my Vespa when I go in - he says it is the right shape for his Dad to use on his boat as an anchor!!!!!!!!
