I have been thinking of putting a kit on my T5 Millenium, does anyone have any recommendations? I have heard there is a 170 touring kit available but not sure if I should go for Mallosi. My main use is for around London although I do go to a few rallies so it needs to be reliable over long distances.

Hey mate, worth a search on this site, been a few threads about kits recently..
I fitted the Malossi 172 kit with a modded head a while ago, it goes really well, much more bottom end pull, no complaints there, but I have to say ot runs really noisy (which is normal for the kit) and you do get a fair bit of vibration through the scooter at 'normal' speeds. It's great on a run i.e. above 50 in top, but round town when you are never really reving it hard I find it a bit uncomfortable. I've no experience of the Polini or that other German kit, may be worth investigating as well..

Yeah I am looking around, did you read the article in Scootering a few months ago on T5 touring kits? It did'nt quite have the pull of the Mallosi but could hold it's own, but at £240 + it aint cheap. Will search on teh forum. Many thanks

Yep, remember seeing something in Scootering, can't recall how much my Malossi was, but by time you have bought the modded head, new plug & jet kit there may be not much in it..
Be intereted in hearing more about the other kit if you find the detail...

Will try and find the link for you when I have a little more time. TBH I only got my scoot back this morning and after having simonini fitted it's ripping around like no mans business so will see how I feel with this first, jesus they make a difference. Well worth the money and they sound good as well.

Yep, I like the Simmonini.. though mine self destructed after 4 months when the end can fractured, fell off, broke the baffle tube then got run over by a car I had it welded back together, but it's not going back on the scoot.. I suspect the additional vibration caused by the Malossi kit was it's downfall

TBH Ive had a sweet day blasting it around and managed to open it out briefly and clocked on 75mph so thats pretty rapid eh. It's always been quicker than most but this simonini has made all teh difference. Next step for you ma friend is a scorpion.

Looks good mate my only concern is Wandsworth council have too much money to waste and so they keep putting funkin speed bumps every 300 yards or so, do they hit the bumps? some guy who goes past my works on a Millenium as I finish pulls away from me all the time. damn him.

Know what you mean, where I live there are 13 speed bumps from the main road to my house, a bit tedious! Not caught it on anything yet, only thing I can't do now is drop off a curb (not that I do that), it is low, but the pics make it look more extreme as it was on the stand at the time.. off the stand it runs horizontal to the road rather than pointing down as the pics show. And when I break it, I;ve the Simmonini and SitoPlus to stick on

Does it make much more difference than the Simonini? They do sound the b*ll*cks the scorpions. Ive noticed that it's more top end on mine whereas when I had my PX it was more from the pull that it mattered.

I've not actually seen or heard the Scorpion myself, the PM Evo pipe is as quiet as the Simmo, deeper note though, yep, it's really all top end, comes on song only at about 60 in top price you pay though is a loss in mid range pull where it can feel really flat, sometimes feels like it gets 'stuck' in the flat spot of the rev band, then once it finally hits the peak, it really takes off ;D Simmo was a better all rounder IMO, but PM pipe is much better quality..
