Well I know of one Mk1 T5 that's got a 152 fitted. It goes like sh*t off a hot shovel and hasn't broken down yet.

I've the Malossi 172 on mine plus machined head, goes well, not a massive improvement in top speed, but much more torque, had no real problems except it is 8loody noisy, clanks like an old lawnmover, apparently they all do that .. From what i've read the Malossi seems to be rated as a better kit than the Polini, though it's a bit more expensive. As well as the piston/barrel kit you need the modified head, maybe a change of plug, bigger main jet and adjustment to the timing..

Thanks all , i like the look of the malossi but its a bit expensive , had a look on pm tuning and i can get the polini 152 for £79 , also doesnt it but a strain on the gearbox and clutch if you go to big with the bore?

I'd say any change is likely to shorten the life of the engine, dont think there will be any difference in those terms between the 2 kits..
Can you run the Polini without a modded head, if so that saves a few ££'s?
I think you pretty well get what you pay for here, it's personal choice how much you are prepared to spend...

Not sure on the Polini, the standard is a 110, Malossi supply a 120 with their kit but I found that too rich, I now use a 115.
I'd probably go 118 as a starter and be sure to do a throttle cut plug test once you have run it in, may then come down a tad if need to.. Polini kit may include the jet? dealer should be able to supply it anyway.
