Mine had been applied poorly so got some new trim. OK, how in h*ll do you get the stuff on? I have tried hot water, warming it with a heat gun (gently!) etc but am still unable to get the stuff to go around the panel. Yes, I have removed the indicators and tool box.
So, how's it done (or can you buy a simple rubber trim ala lambretta)?

There is a tool for doing this IIRC. It's about £40 though...
T5 legshield trim is black and easier to do, though with patience, and by starting at one end, you can fit the alloy trim with patience and a bit of heat.

Saw the tool, but thought that was more for the geguine metal style trim rather than this alicovered plastic 'chrome' stuff. Well I must admit that the black stuff looks pretty good so might try that instead as it'll match the black rubber trim that's on the side panels!!!!!!!!!

Could be, TBH I've never felt the need to find out. I've done it twice - once with alloy, took me a day and taught my cat a whole host of obscenities, and once with black, took me half an hour.
Take your pick, but the alloy is correct for all P ranges and T5 Classics, whilst AFAIK the black is only for Mk1 T5s.

OK, so I cheated. I went to Allstyle Scooters (Portsmouth) this morning on my way to work (OK, 180* to where I should have been going but a scooters needs are paramount eh?) and got some really good black rubber beeding and two retension clips. Brilliant fit and oh so easy to do. Better still is it matches the rubber seal around the tool box and the side panels and just look 'right' along with the fact that it cost about 8 quid or so. Result !!!!! ;D
