hi guys, im a new member just bought a 1965 150 super, its an import and ive got all the paperwork i need to register it, been to dvla local office, shown them what ive got ( original foriegn log book etc...) they said no problem to get it sorted, went to get it mot'd and we had trouble reading the chassis number on the bike the numbers are stamped on fine but the prefix (vbb) is hard to read especially the second 'b' i had to give the paint a liitle scratch, the b is just about visible i dont kno if its been rubbed down too hard over the years when its had paint jobs . my fear now is that the guy at the dvla said the inspector might want to see the bike when i register it and he wont validate the bike because the 'b' is not very clear, like i said all the numbers correspond with the original log book, i read somewhere that the inspector is only interested in the actual numbers, i would be very grateful if anybody could shed some light on my little problem, thanks in advance

You'll be fine, if you have foreign docs to use as proof that will do the job.
If those docs have a 1965 reg date on it, even better, you wont even need a dating sert from the VCB.
Would be very unlucky to get the scoot called in for an inspection, as you say, they are really only interested in the frame number itself, the prefix is only of use if you do need to get a dating cert from the VCB, but even then if the B is missing from VBB, you'll still get it dated and confimed as a Vespa 150.
