Front Brake

1966 Vespa 125 super...

How on earth do I remove the front brake drum?

I've removed the wheel & hub nut, released the cable but the drum wont come off.

Do I whack it with a big hammer or is there a secret?

Hmm, try tapping the hub behind the wheel studs and rotate it as you do, hammer and wooden block.

Slightly more drastic action is to strike the centre of the hub shaft to break the contact, but there is the risk of damaging something doing that, so bit of a last resort (though I had to do that to get my rear hub off ).. good luck.

I used a heat gun & a soft mallet in the end. Worked a treat.
