Where does everyone place their tax disc these days? I'm thinking of putting mine under one of the side panels but is there a better looking place to put it? Thanks, Clive (Shrewsbury). Cosa CLX 125

I think the best place is locked under your seat, stuck to the fuel tank. But, I think it has to be on display so mine is stuck behind the legshield above the glovebox, where any scrote can just peel it off if they want to.
These days The Feds know whether you are taxed before they even approach you, so it makes sense for it to be hidden from thieves, but maybe that's too much like common sense.
I may be being a little unfair, as I have heard someone say that it's OK to be hidden, but I haven't had that confirmed, so if anyone can......

yeah, we had this discussion last year & i checked, DVLA say they don't care where it is as long as you've got one, but mr. plod says it must be displayed where it can be seen....SO, i'd go along with mr. plod

Cosa CLX 125 Hello Clive, I have a Cosa and my tax disc is bolted at the tank and I found it is the best place I've ever tried. I had a (and still have) a number of scooters and tried many places. On a PX I had it bolted under the handlebar (not really good) On a T5 was bolted at the screw on the mudguard (ok but not particularly pleasant to see) On my ETS is bolted on the side of the rear rack (not bad at all) On my ET3 is happily sitting in the glove box, plod stopped me (for speeding : and checked the scooter but said nothing about it. Besides, they always check on the database if paperwork is right. I hope this helps.

is that an annual disk received after passing the MOT ?

No Rudi, the MOT certificate is a completely separate thing. The tax disc is an annual licence to use the road that all vehicles must have over here. That along with insurance and MOT are the three basic requirements a vehicle must have.
All the funds collected by the government from the millions of motorists is ploughed back into upgrading our road system and ensuring that the UK motorist has the best facilities in Europe*.
*This may be a lie.

The owner has a driving licence, either provisional before passing a test, or full after passing. This lasts a lifetime, or until health says otherwise.
The vehicle, if older than three years, must have an annual MOT test pass certificate, and a valid insurance policy.
None of the above need to be displayed on the vehicle.
The tax disc, what we are discussing here, is an annual tax payment for all vehicles. This for motorcycles below 150cc, is £15 per year, and £33 for a 200cc. It rises as the cc's increase.
Cars are rated according to their emissions, but are generally £100+.
The tax disc must be displayed on the vehicle.
Hope that clears it up Rudi.
