???i want to kit up my px 125 but am on a budget, not looking for a high top end speed, just quicker accellaration.would a bolt on dr 180 give me the results im looking for and still maintain a decent level of reliability? p.s. im new to the forum so hello to each and everyone of you.

welcome! vespa engines are low tuned so basically any kit will increase performance in some way or the other regarding reliability, it mostly will depend on which kit, how its tuned (jets, carb, oil, etc) , and how you ride.
i can say carefully, that even with a kit, engine will still remain fairly reliable im not really familiar with the 180 or other kits for 125 so ill let other answer that

Am thinking of doing the same myself. Had a Polini kit on my T5 and was well impressed, fast accelaration and speed, bought a PX with a 210 Malossi on and even tho it as quick off the mark, as soon as you popped it into 4th the revs/speed died, you had to keep the revs up, even after it had been dyno'd, so tended to keep it in 3rd when I needed the power.
I'll be going for the Polini 180 kit when I do my PX 125 methinks.

I have had experience with a number of Kits and what I can tell you, for 125 engines, the choice is shortlisted to Polini and DR.
DR: not particularly quicker than standard little more torquey and just as reliable. No other modifications needed.
Polini: great all rounder, bit more torque and a bit more top speed if plug and play without any other modifications. If you then want to get the best out of it you can change the crank to one with longer inlet timing (or modifiy the standard yourself) and flow the ports. Then you chuck on a longer gear ratio with a 22 cluch cog and you have a PX125 that goes like a 200. As simple as that.
