Hi everyone
Has anyone got any views on the new Vespa S 125? Im now 40 and currently deciding on what scooter i want to buy and im finding it really hard! (Ive recently sold my GP225) I Thought it would be easy at my age lol. Anyway, I was really up for getting another classic (ie Rally 200 or another GP) but you never know what you'll end up with these days and with limited funds i dont want to waste any more money on dodgy imports! For some reason my attention has been turned dramatically in favour of the new Vespa S 125. Its got the retro styling and its COMPLETELY ITALIAN, i reckon its set to be a classic! I havent attended a scooter rally in a long while and was wondering if new scooters are welcome at rallies?? I would love to hear your views before i splash out! Many thanks.

Alright the, welcome to the forum. I haven't really got any experience of the Vespa S 125, so I can't help you there. But I do know that every year there are more and more modern autos on the rides and rallies. There are undoubtedly people who will frown on them, but I've personally never heard anything nasty. I am sure you will be made more than welcome by the vast majority.
What is important is that if you are happy with it nothing else matters, and it's a hundred times more acceptable than arriving by car anyway and plenty do that.
Bottom line is go with your gut feeling and sod what anyone else thinks.
Good luck with whatever you get and ride safe.

Cheers Robjack, appreciate it. I know where youre coming from. It seems that new scooters are kind of 'geeky' but a few years down the line they'll gradually become classics like all the scooters before them (providing its a Lambretta or Vespa of course). Im struggling to know what my gut instinct is to be honest mate - i really like the idea of owning a new all italian Vespa but dont want to be left out socially by the old school lads. If i had the money i'd buy a Rally 200 and a Vespa S. Its a cruel world!!! Thanks again mate.
