Tell me about wet weather 'skirts' for vespas

Now that it's raining (yes it is) what do you suggest I get to best protect my legs from nature's wrath? I was considering jut getting proper waterproofs, but have seen riders with 'skirts' on their machines and was wondering what the deal was. Are they any good? Do they keep you dry & warm? How much do they cost? Where can I get one in Central London?

skirts are for girls ;D (sorry girls), you can't beat a good pair of waterproof pants, depending on how much cash you've got to spend, you can't go wrong with armoured ones, you can get the skirts on line i think
