My son has lost his only key for his P200. Has anyone ever changed the lockset by drilling it out? There are instructions to do so on scooter help...doesn't seem terribly compicated.

hi jacqui,on some vespas theres no need to drill the barrel out-take the front horncasing off, this is done by opening the glove box and undoing the 2 screws from inside there, then on the front of the casing u should have a plastic piaggio logo-remove that, and take the screw out of there.Right with the casing off you should b able to see the cylinder that houses the ignition barrel,on the underside of it there should b a tiny hole(around 4mm)wide-if u get a pin or needle and push it up thru the hole you"ll be able to feel the last pin on his ignition lock,if you can push the pin up u can take the lock out

hi again!!-if the lockset your son has in is 1 that can b removed in this way its more than likely his pther two locks can b taken out in the same fashion, its a matter of locating the tiny hole so you can push somethin in to dislodge the last pin.just a tip-while your tryin to dislodge the locks it helps to pull them out if at the same time you can pull a little from the keyside ie-where you insert the key, anythin will do,small screwdriver etc just try and help it out if you know what i mean.If you get stuck-get back 2 me and i"ll try help u out-good luck
