I am presently bringing a T5 back to life. Am wondering which exhaust to put on. Presently a Sito + but fancy a Simonini to go with the cut down I will create. Needs to be off the shelf because of the ridiculous cost of shipping to the IOM I want full potential from my motor, so output + exhaust is the equation I am looking for.

I'm just about to get a new exhaust for my T5 had a Sito+ really don't like the noise and the baffles have broken loose, they also always split in the same place. Was going for a 'standard' one which PM Tuning sell, but a conversation with them has put me off that idea.. And there is no OE option available so I'm gonna buy the Simonini and hopefully it won't be tooooo loud for me, if it is it will be on Ebay in a couple of weeks ;D but TBH I'm not really buying it for performance, if that was the case I'd go for one of PM's racing jobbies..

I fitted a Sito Plus to Lu's T5, and a Simonini to my PX200, and I have no complaints about either.

im useing a sito on my standard t5 and also putting a new sito on my modified 172 motor. cant be arsed with messing about with big expansion chambers for the sake of a couple of bhp it would be just my luck to get a puncture in the pi$$ing down rain and not have tools on me to take the exhaust off to get to back wheel, that is if you can even fit a spare wheel on with some of the after market exhausts.

bryno. if yours is splitting its possibly not fitted right, not been funny, but if its twisting itself as you bolt it on then it will split, mine goes on perfect no forceing / swearing etc. however, i must admit i did take the engine out and fit the exhaust onto the cylinder after cutting off the captive nut and then welded the captive nut so it never moved and so the exhaust was on perfect and under no stress .

Dazh, it split on the U bend just before it goes into the box where the metal is very thin (maybe a result of a poor fit then), I got another one off a mate and it has gone in the same place.. personally I won't buy a Sito again, I had the split on mine welded up, but the baffles now rattle like a bag of spanners! hopefully a Simonnini will be better quality, though at the prices for these exhausts it's hard to complain!

Fitted the Simonnini today, pretty poor fit, no way would it bolt through the swinging arm without the exh hitting the underside of the floor and the rear 'silencer' bit fouls on one of the crank case bolts and the engine cover... Few hours and a bit of modification later (hacksaw, grinder ) and it's on, different sound to the Sito plus, I'd say it's a bit quieter as well, which is nice ;D No idea how it performs as I'm still running in the 172 kit..
