I'm the other way round, mainly the front disc brake. I tend to use the rear more (with the front as well) when coming to a complete halt or having to brake sharply.

Any instructor worth his salt will tell you that you should use your front brake slightly before the rear. Like Devo, I mainly use the front and only tend to use the rear under hard braking. If you use only the back, there's more chance of locking up and skidding because the centre of gravity shifts forward and the weight lifts off the rear. Not sure it's wise to slam on your front brake if you're cornering though, you're on your own with that one.

I mainly use the front brake , the back brake after applying the front in an emergency . Dont use brakes whilst cornering slow down before the corner. Braking should be progressive , hope this helps

While we're on this subject, can anyone tell me where the handbrake is on a PX? Cornering on the estate just isn't the same without it ;D

To be honest, under normal circumstances, you should hardly need to use your back brake. Light braking with the front should do it, with maybe a little gentle assistance with the back. If you need to slam on with both brakes, you're probably either riding too close to the vehicle in front, or some clown has just pulled out in front of you.
