Hi All
Has anyone had experience of registering an old scooter that's been off the road for a long time? I've been rebuilding a 1959 Douglas Vespa 152L2 over the last couple of years, it's been in my family since the early sixties, and I'd like to get it re-registered with its original registration number.
Trouble is, I don't have any documentation - I've got pictures of it bearing its original number from the family album, and the original Hills plates, but I realise they don't constitute proof. I have the frame and engine numbers, but that's about it? What d'you reckon my chances are?
Cheers
Jaz

Hi Jaz, welcome to vespa.org.uk
I've never had to do it myself, but as far as I'm aware if you contact either the Veteran Vespa Club, or the Vintage Motor Scooter Club, they'll be able to help you to register your scooter from the frame/engine numbers etc.
VVC - Peter Rose, 28 Greenway, Letchworth, Herts SG6 3UG or memvvc@hotmail.com
VMSC - Ian, 11 Ivanhoe Ave, Lowton-St-Lukes, Warrington WA3 2HX or 01942 743428
Good luck.

No problem, Jaz. We'd love to put a photo of the finished article on our readers' scooters page if you want to send one.
