Ferdy, I too thought it was a good idea and I really enjoyed what i saw.. The organiser ( a local entrepenuer with a passion for scooters and who organises the Lambretta Day here)has been labelled as a money grabber, but I don't see how he could've made much out of it. It did raise £4000 for the poppy apeal. Some of the comments against have been real personal attacks which I don't like. I believe VFM have put their tuppence into the arguement against, but then that's to be expected.

Good idea and if hen makes a few bob from it then good for him. My gripe would be where it was. The green has been known for a free show, alternative custom show if you like, a chance to walk rould and take pics, talk to folk. This gig upset that scene and icrowded everyone into a small areas with accompanying parking problems. Move it down the prom a bit as there's plenty of space. As I said, goood show but in the wrong place.

I think everyone, including the organiser, knows it was in the wrong place. Unfortunately he only got permission from the town council at the "11th" hour. He had asked to have it down the other end but was told that the council wanted to contain the Scooter Event in one area. Personally, I'd tell him to have it in Sandown as this area is starting to get more pubs and Hotels etc. involved in putting on small Do's.
