I'd be grateful for any advice on buying a 50cc vespa. I've been checking private sales ads. I'm looking for a reliable scooter & wondered how old is too old & also what mileage is reasonable. Are there any things I should look out for or avoid? Many thanks

Sorry Sarah, kind of missed this post what with it coming on the cusp of the Isle of Wight rally. We weren't ignoring you honest.
All Vespas are reliable unless their engines have been messed about with. No age is too old as long as the scooter has been looked after, the engine's solid, the frame isn't bent or rusty and all the cables etc have been replaced.
