Got myself a T5 engine which I am thinking of building up as a slightly hotter motor, then either dropping into my T5 or better still into another PX frame ;D..
Anyway, story so far is engine had seized up at the crank and piston, garage fitted a new crank but said it was 1mm too big, engine seized again. Garage gave up and fitted a PX engine instead saying the original engine was modified which is why the crank didn't fit..
I picked up the box of bits today, suspect they fitted a PX crank to the T5 casing and there is probably a difference, hence it didn't work, so now I have the complete engine, needing a new crank, piston & possibly barrel..
So what are the options? standard T5 crank? or is there a stroker kit available? I guess I could get a 172 kit instead of replacing the standard piston & barrel (can't re-bore the T5 AFAIK) , anything else worth considering?

Nice one dazh, have been corresponding with PM today, my casing around the inlet is a bit scored, so they suggest a reed valve conversion, the crank also needs rebuilding and I will get the head modded as I'm going to go with the 172 kit (though I've not seen mention of that being needed other than by PM ) have a Sitoplus to go on to as well, want to keep it looking pretty stock.. may need the 30mm carb to go with the reed valve conversion, lots of options, I'd better add it all up now

Do you have contact details for britoni mate, can't find on the www.
I'll probably go for the PM head as well, although need to check with them that I can still run it on regular unleaded, they mention 97/98 ron on the web site, costs me a fortune running my car on Optimax, not sure I want to be doing the same for my scoot ;D
Plan at the moment is to fit the 172 kit to the engine in my T5, get it run in, then think about exactly what I want to do with the spare engine...
With all seals, bearings, new crank, reed valve conversion etc, it is looking a tad expensive, could just buy another scooter instead LOL
dazh YHPM by the way
